Project:  Marine Parade, Auckland

Date:  May 2017

Client:  Private residential client

This project required the construction of a meditation deck on the edge of a cliff top property.  ESL were approached to provide a full design and build solution including; initial consultation, site investigation, detailed design, obtaining the necessary consents, completing all works onsite and obtaining a code of compliance on completion of the works.

The meditation/look-out deck constructed by ESL sits on four 6-metre deep x 150 diameter micropiles with 2 No. 7-metre long 150 diameter tie-back anchors with a reinforced concrete pile cap.

By using rope access methods to carry out this work ESL was able to mobilise the works in a safer manner and, because the works can be completed in shorter time period than traditional scaffolding methods, create costs savings for the client.

This is ESL’s 22nd project for this client over a six-year period, illustrating its fantastic relationship with this client.

ESL also won position as finalist in the ‘2017 Hynds Construction Category A Awards’ for its work on this project.
